Stoke-upon-Trent was glowing last night for the annual Lantern Parade!
The streets came alive as crowds gathered outside Stoke Library to take part in a magical evening of light, colour, and community. The parade made its way through town to Stoke Minster, led by the glowing Stoke Elk puppet – with a trail of stunning lanterns lighting the path.
Each lantern was hand-crafted from willow in community workshops held across the city, with people of all ages getting involved. From animals to abstract designs, every piece was unique – and seeing them all together was something special.
The highlight for many was the Stoke Elk – its lifelike movement was both beautiful and incredibly creative, a real showstopper.
I absolutely love events like this that get everyone outside, together, and celebrating what makes Stoke such a brilliant place to live.
