Immediate Action Needed: Support Our Heritage Protection Law

I'm reaching out to everyone who holds our UK heritage as close to their hearts as I do. Our historic and heritage buildings are under an unprecedented threat, and I need your help to support a vital cause. I'm advocating for a groundbreaking law that puts protective covenants in the hands of our communities, empowering us to safeguard our cherished local heritage sites against the tide of redevelopment.

Pass laws enabling communities to protect heritage sites with restrictive covenants to protect heritage sites from redevelopment. This would allow communities to decide upon modifications and repurposing, and prevent demolition. If demolished, buildings would need to be rebuilt like for like.

Developers with eyes on profit are targeting our historic properties, demolishing them to erect modern structures, effectively erasing our shared history. The law I propose insists on a "like for like" principle for any heritage site that's damaged or destroyed. This critical detail means that if a heritage building falls, it must be resurrected in its historical image, deterring those who wish to replace our past with profit-driven projects.

My Goal:
